Description

Cousin Rita Busalacchi loves this fresh-tasting marinara-style recipe of mother-in-law Mary Busalacchi. Rita says the key to this sauce is great tomatoes!

Makes 4 to 6 servings.

Ingredients

1/2 cup extra-virgin olive oil
2 large onions, chopped
4 large cloves garlic, halved
1/4 cup chopped fresh parsley
1 tablespoon chopped fresh basil
1 bay leaf
4 cups Tomato Magic®
1 pound hot, cooked pasta
Salt and pepper

Directions

Heat oil in large saucepan over medium heat.

Add onions; cook until tender.

Add garlic, parsley, basil, and bay leaf; cook 1 - 2 minutes.

Stir in Tomato Magic®; season with salt and pepper.

Reduce heat to low, cover and simmer 10 minutes.

Serve over pasta. (Also great over fried eggs for Sunday brunch!)
