South Chicago Thin Pizza Sauce
Description
South Chicago thin pizza is made without edges. The sauce is often mixed with crumbled sausage (optional), placed on the dough skin with other toppings, and topped with cheese.
Makes 39 cups of sauce.
Ingredients
| 2 cans Tomato Magic® Ground Tomatoes |
| 1 can Full Red® Tomato Puree |
| 3⁄4 cup Corto® Extra Virgin Olive Oil |
| 3⁄4 cup honey |
| 1⁄2 cup fresh oregano, chopped |
| 1⁄2 cup fresh basil, chopped |
| 2 tablespoons fresh garlic, minced |
| 2 tablespoons salt |
| 1 1⁄2 teaspoons black pepper |
